Meet Lucy! She is a purebred Parti colored, Standard Poodle believed to be 2 years old. Her adoption fee is $350.00. Lucy weighs about 45 pounds and is full grown but is still a bit under weight. She is spayed, micro-chipped, heartworm negative and up to date on all vaccinations. She is both house and crate trained, but will have an accident if not let outside. Lucy is a very special young lady who is despartely in need of love, patience and understanding. Lucy was an Amish breeding dog. Her life was living in a crate too small for her, being bred and having puppies repeatedly. Her last litter was justed weaned and sold before we got Lucy. Upon her arrival with us, she had an ear infection, eye infection and an infected uterus. She is now on track to becoming a healthy, happy girl. Lucy is a VERY sweet girl but has lacked socialization. This has left her leary of humans. She has been in her foster home for 6 weeks now and trusts her foster family. She is still fearful of quick movements, loud noises, going through doors and being touched. Once her trust is earned, she will approach and want attention and affection. She needs lots of love, patience and understanding from someone willing to give her a forever home. Lucy will do best in a home with adults and kids 10 and older due to her fearfulness. Lucy's new home must have a fenced yard, and absolutely no apartment. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue.
