Meet Maya!!! She is believed to be a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. Maya is just a little over a year old and is a wonderful dog. She came to our rescue when her owner lost her job and must move back home with her parents. Both Maya and her owner are victums of the economy. Maya is very typical of a Border Collie, she has lots of energy to run and play. She loves to play ball and frisbee. Maya does require daily exercise to expend some of her Border Collie energy. Just look at her sweet face! Maya needs work with walking on her leash, her excitement gets the better of her and she tends to pull. She is completely housetrained and will either go to the door and sit or ring a bell when she has to go outside to potty. Maya is crate trained, although her owner does not crate her when she is away from home. Maya will greatly benefit from obedience training. She is still very young and will show her puppy side from time to time. The adoption fee is $150.00. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when neccessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming, heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, tag, training DVD, and vaccination record.
