Ankah is an adult cat who is friendly and playful.  She will follow the human and would probably sleep on their bed, if allowed to.  However, when petted, she tends to back away.  She doesn't like to be held or carried, and hates a cat-carrier.  Giving her treats seems to help her tolerate the carrier.  It would be beneficial to put her in a carrier everyday for practice to keep her used to it.

 

She is pretty social with other cats.  Although front-declawed, she plays aggressively with her foster's male cat, who is much larger than Ankah and has all of his claws, making him run for cover before she does. 

 

Ankah does shed and would benefit from daily brushing.  She is vocal and has a raspy, growly meow, but it is not a growl.  Before coming into our program, Ankah was kept in a very dirty, dusty garage where she developed an allergy in her eyes.  Sometimes her left eye does not open all the way.  She may need eye drops occasionally, just as people do, to help treat them, but it is nothing to be concerned about.  She is a bit overweight, as she tends to eats just about anything (treats, kibble, canned food), so her food intake should be limited and should be placed on a 'Healthy Weight' type of cat food.  Other than this, Ankah is in excellent health.   

 

Ankah's paradise would be a FOREVER home where she has full run of the house, maybe the only cat (or with one other), and older children versus younger children.  We aren't sure how she does with dogs.  She would like a home where she can show her UNCONDITIONAL love to her new found family.
