About Athena

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Declawed: Yes
Athena is an adult cat who is very playful and very fond of Pounce Crunchy Catnip-flavored treats (but not other flavors).  She is also interested in canned cat food, but eats Meow Mix and IAMS Multi-Cat.

Athena doesn't like to be held or petted for more than a few times, but can be persuaded to cooperate with a minimum of fussing, by offering her the catnip treats.  She is also given the catnip treats when she is put in a cat carrier.  She goes into a cat carrier daily, for practice, so she overcome being afraid of it and/or the anguish of being caged.

She would be better as an only cat as she hisses a lot at other cats, but rarely fights with them.  She'll tolerate them but doesn't like them.  She is front-declawed but has bitten.  Athena wants attention on her own terms, so if she growls first and then hisses, let her go on her way.  A home without young children would be best.  Older children might be OK, but they should be supervised until they learn Athena's personality.

Athena is beautiful and doesn't actually require daily brushing, but would benefit from it as she does get mats.  Her meow is a high-pitched squeak.  Chewing on indoor flowering plants at her Foster's home (a begonia and a miniature rose bush) has become a habit, so anything poisonous should be kept out of her reach.

Being brought into a home as an only cat, and given the corresponding time, attention, and love, Athena will become a devoted companion and will show you her UNCONDITIONAL love FOREVER.  Is there room in your heart and home for Athena's special personality?

Athena's adoption fee is $80.00 which includes deworming, all vaccinations and Rabies, fecal check, and Feline LEUK test (negative), and spay.  For more information on Athena, or to see her, please contact Judy at 260-557-8280 or Patty 260-223-3946.
