Dasher is a one-year-old Sheltie weighing 22 pounds. He’s making great progress with potty manners and sleeps well in his crate. After a rocky start, Dasher is learning how to be a dog and would thrive in a home with a confident, calm dog to help guide him.

Leashes and collars can be a little scary at first, but once outside, Dasher enjoys his walks. He loves to cuddle once he feels safe and comfortable. Like many foster pups, he may be skittish in the beginning and will need a patient home to help him feel secure.

Dasher is tolerant of soft face touches and allows his foster family to clean his ears and clip his nails.

New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure.

The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record.
