Meet Spike!! He is a stunning, 1 year old Black Lab/ Newf mix puppy. He currently weighs about 70 pounds and is a large dog. Full grown, Spike very well may tip the scale at 80 pounds. Spike came into our rescue from a local shelter where he was surrendered by his owner. Spike is exceptionally sweet, smart, and very eager to please. He has had very little structure and needs to learn to be a good family member. Spike will take a very loving, patient home who understands he is a large puppy. He make look full grown, but he is still a baby. Spike will greatly benefit from obedience training. He needs to learn boudaries, rules and limitations. He is VERY affectionate and loves attention. Spike is excellent with cats. He gets along great with other dogs as well. Spike LOVES everyone, including children. We have had Spike spayed, heartworm tested, given him all of his vaccinations including DHLPP and Bordetella, rabies, and have started him on heartworm/flea and tick prevention. He is completely house and crate trained. Due to his extremely large size, Spike can only go to a home with children 10 and older. He will make some family a great furry family member!! The adoption fee is $200.00. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when neccessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming, heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, training DVD, and vaccination record.
