Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Poodle (Toy) / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Small Learn more about the Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie.
Meet Teddy! He is believed to be a Yorkie/ Chocolate Poodle mix who is about 2 1/2 years old and weighs about 10 pounds. Teddy came to our rescue from a local shelter where he was surrendered by his owner. He is a very smart little dog. Teddy is a great dog. At this point, Teddy is what we call a flight risk. Having been moved from place to place to place, he is easily frightened and his reaction to fear is to run. He WILL bolt out any open door and run. He is quick and has the art of getting out the door before it closes perfected. This behavior will change once he is in a permanent home and has time to bond and rebuild his trust in humans. We are either taking him outside on a leash or hooking him to a cable tie out inside the house before opening the door. He will need to either be picked up and held or his collar held each time someone goes in or out a door until his fear and bolt reaction is gone. Teddy is house and crate trained. He gets along great with other cats, and kids. With some dogs he is a little fearful but is getting better. The adoption fee is $250.00. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 16 weeks old), and spay/neuter when neccessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming, heart worm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, training DVD, and vaccination record.
