Boo is a VERY SPECIAL boy. Here is Boo's story written by the loving ladies who saved him! Our family took in Boo last December as a snow storm set in (his owner willingly turned him over to us). During the year that he had lived with his owner in our neighborhood, we could see that he was being seriously neglected. Boo was chained 24/7 to his doghouse located in an isolated section of their backyard on a five foot chain. It wasn't unusual to find Boo stuck and unable to move anywhere. Boo's owners never played with him, never took him for walks and was never let in the house. His owners tossed out food for him in a trash can lid and if it rained, his food was completely soggy and left there for several days. His water bowl was completely covered in green slime. They never cleaned up after Boo leaving his living area littered with piles of feces which he had to navigate around. He was NEVER taken to a veterinarian and as a result, he contracted an advanced case of heartworm. In the past six months that we'd had Boo, he has been successfully treated for heartworm, had his inital round of shots and we are having him neutered in the next couple of days, as well as having any remaining shots brought up to date. The vet who treated Boo said he doing excellent and was in great shape after what he had been through. Boo gets along wonderfully with adults, children, dogs and cats. He has a very gentle, sweet disposition. Boo loves to play, go for walks (he is very easy to walk) and he really enjoys TLC, whether it's being petted or just lying next to us. If our situation were different, we would keep Boo in a heartbeat . . . he is patient, even-tempered, genteel, and loving. He is such a sweetie and deserves much more than what he has received so far in his life.
